💢 Siem Reap is a must-visit destination for tourists traveling to Cambodia. Situated close to the Angkor Archaeological Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, Siem Reap offers a treasure trove of ancient temples and ruins that captivate visitors from around the world. The undisputed highlight of Siem Reap is the magnificent Angkor complex, which showcases a rich architectural legacy spanning centuries.

♻️ Angkor Wat, the most famous temple in the region, is an architectural masterpiece with its intricate carvings and grand scale. Built in the 12th century, it remains as one of the largest religious monuments in the world. The temple is a symbol of Cambodia and is the epitome of Khmer art and culture.

♻️ Another notable temple within the Angkor complex is Bayon. Known for its iconic stone faces, Bayon is a mesmerizing sight that transports visitors to a bygone era. The temple's unique design and elaborate bas-reliefs tell tales from Khmer mythology and history.

♻️ Ta Prohm, often referred to as the "Tomb Raider Temple," is a captivating site where nature and history intertwine. The temple is engulfed by massive tree roots and vines, creating a mystical and enchanting atmosphere. Exploring the ruins of Ta Prohm feels like stepping into an ancient world frozen in time.

♻️ Just a short distance from Siem Reap is Banteay Srei, a masterpiece of 10th-century temple architecture. Dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva, this temple is renowned for its delicate and intricately carved pink sandstone. The level of craftsmanship is truly remarkable, and it is regarded as a testament to the skill and artistry of the Khmer people.

💢 Moving on to Phnom Penh, the capital city of Cambodia, visitors will discover a vibrant and bustling metropolis where history and modernity collide. The Royal Palace, a complex of ornate buildings, is the official residence of the King of Cambodia. Its stunning architecture and well-manicured gardens offer a glimpse into the country's royal heritage.

♻️ The National Museum of Cambodia, located near the Royal Palace, houses a vast collection of Khmer art and artifacts. Visitors can admire ancient sculptures, ceramics, and other historical objects that showcase the rich cultural heritage of Cambodia.

💢 Leaving Cambodia and venturing into southern Vietnam, the Mekong Delta awaits with its magnificent landscapes and unique river culture. Known as the "rice bowl" of Vietnam, the Mekong Delta is a sprawling region of lush fields, narrow canals, and vibrant floating markets.

♻️ Taking a boat trip along the Mekong River is a popular activity for visitors. It provides a glimpse into the traditional way of life in the delta, where people rely on the river for transportation and livelihood. The fertile lands of the delta support a thriving agricultural industry, and visitors can witness locals tending to rice fields, fruit orchards, and fish farms.

♻️ Among the many towns and cities that dot the Mekong Delta, Cần Thơ is particularly famous for its floating market. This bustling market is a fascinating sight where vendors sell a variety of fresh produce, street food, and handicrafts from their boats. Navigating through the maze of boats and engaging with the friendly locals is an unforgettable experience.

♻️ The cycling holiday from Siem Reap to Ho Chi Minh City is an excellent way to explore the region at a leisurely pace. Along the way, you will be treated to stunning landscapes, charming villages, and glimpses of daily rural life. Cycling allows you to connect with the surroundings and immerse yourself in the beauty and serenity of the countryside.

💢 Siem Reap, Phnom Penh, the Mekong Delta, and this Cambodia bicycle tour to Ho Chi Minh City offer a unique and diverse experience for travelers. From ancient temples to bustling markets, and from rural landscapes to vibrant cities, this journey through Cambodia and Vietnam promises unforgettable memories and a deeper appreciation for the rich history and culture of the region.

🌾 Day 3: Siem Riep - Bantay Srei - Siem Reap (B, L)

Today we will leave the crowds behind on a cycle ride to the small village of Rolous where we visit the temples, before continuing to a local market. Our ride through rural Cambodia offers plenty of opportunities to once more connect with local people. The fascinating village of Kompong Phluk is built on stilts in Tonle Sap Lake. 🌾 Day 4: Siem Reap - Phnom Penh (B, L, D)

Today we leave the temples of Angkor behind and drive south to Phnom Penh. It's a long day in the bus today with about six to seven hours driving. On the way as well as comfort stops, we'll stop at the famous ancient bridge at Kompong Kdei. We continue on to the capital, then leave the highway and drive to Koh Dach ferry dock. From the dock, we take an excursion by local ferry along the Mekong River to Koh Dach Island where we visit a traditional Khmer weaving village. There are many handicrafts that come from this sleepy island but they are best known for silk weaving.

You will see how the villagers produce their own dyes and weave silk on old looms. Discover and learn about the traditional way of life as you cycle for about 22 km around the island. We return to our bus by the same ferry before driving the short distance on to busy Phnom Penh. Our total cycling distance today is approximately 37 kilometers.
