Cycling Saigon to Angkor Wat 10 days
Saigon or Ho Chi Minh City is commercial City in the south of Vietnam. It has more than 14 million people Who living in 2400 km² and more than 5 million more motorcycles in this city.
Saigon is famous for the Cu Chi tunnels which used to be underground village.
1st day | Cycling In TanAn – BenTre – TraVinh.
In Tan An: From Ho Chi Minh City about 45 kilometres along the Highway 1A, Tan An is a gateway Of Mekong Delta. Tan An handicraft Village of Conico Hat with wide rim, And of Famers history Nguyen Trung Truc who attacted the French colonists since 17 century, You follow our expert to cycle along this famous dragon fruit region.
In Ben Tre: About 30% of the country’s coconuts, and wel-known for the Coconut Festival which is held once in 2 years and its first time in 2009. You will have an opportunity to explore biking under the coconut canopy and its products such as chopstick, candy, shoup, mask have so many delicious food from the coconut.
In Tra Vinh City: Here is a no touristy City which let you have a very good feeling when you stay in the real Vietnamese life and atmosphere and enjoy some traditional foods at a local restaurant before your free night.
2nd day | TraVinh – Tieu Can – SocTrang.
In Southern Tra Vinh: About 8 kilometers from the center of Tra Vinh, You are able to visit the oldest Khmer in Mekong Delta which is Ang Pagoda (built 990) before cycling. Today you will cycle toward to the southern part of Tra Vinh where we call Tieu Can to be passed many endless rice fields and cross Mighty Mekong River by 2 ferries.
Soc Trang: This second minority city in Mekong Delta, About 45% of Khmer which will impress you today.
3rd day | SocTrang – BacLieu.
In Southern Soc Trang:
Bac Lieu is Mekong Delta untouched countryside. It becomes famous and well-known because of Bac Lieu prince who spent his money carelessly, like water as to please a beautiful lady. Today we are going to cycle to and stay a night in this town. A network of concrete paths through homeland of Khmer allows you to experience their living lifestyle, daily activities along countryside paths. You will have many stop; rural markets, at ferry stations, shrimp farms, fish farms. After lunch, your bike adventures is continue, passing rice paddies through seaside villages and keep our adventures along coastal to Bac Lieu city.
4th day | BacLieu – ViThanh – RachGia.
Vi Thanh is a new town after Hau Giang was divided into two provinces in 2004. It is very new to tourists and its countryside is worthy place to see local lifestyle on back roads by bike. From the urban Dist about 15minutes driving from Bac Lieu city central. We cycle to Vi Thanh, going through some villages without electricity, most single tracks connecting together by simple wooden bridges. On your morning biking, you can see working buffaloes and cows on farm lands. Your guide will arrange delicious lunch in town of Vi Thanh. In the afternoon, your cycling adventures are more fun. You can choose small routes riding to Giong Gieng OR following quiet back road to race as temperature cooling down. A transfer by van/bus will take you to Rach Gia city.
5th day | RachGia – LongXuyen.
Long Xuyen city is the second biggest town in Mekong Delta after Can Tho. Many are smugglers, they smuggling second electric household goods and cigarette and other things from Cambodia. Discover countryside magnificent villages, lively local markets and busy river through is your real adventures today. On the country back roads, we see many big rice husking factories by villages, many small little ferries waiting passengers by rivers, water taxi and cargo boats moving different directions on rivers.
6th day | LongXuyen – ChauDoc.
Bike routes will be divided into 2 parts for a full day ride today. In the morning, we ride to explore huge farmlands which were abandoned before 1975. Since 1980, Mekong farmers have moved and settled in this land. Witness first-hand how big the rice bowl of Vietnam is. In the afternoon, your guide will lead you cycling on many gentle hilly country back roads along mountain, through nice mountainous scenery, villages with palm trees along the ways to Ba Chu village, stopping at memorial of killing field before the afternoon’ ride continue to Nha Bang’ countryside, and to Tra Su Natural Reserved. If time permitted, you can keep cycling to Nui Sam before a very short transfer you to Chau Doc.
7th day | Chau Doc – Phnom Penh by high speed boat.
Our local guide who will in charge of taking your group to Phnom Penh by high speed boat. Our Cambodia bike guide will welcome you at the pier and take you to hotel. Free to explore Phnom Penh by your own.
8th day | PhnomPenh – SiemReap.
Option 1: All year around
Today, we spend more time on A/C because there is a long way to Siem Reap. The ride begins after an hour on vehicles and we ride around 30 km before a transfer to Siem Reap.
Option 2: From July to Feb
A transfer you to high speed boat station, enjoy a 6 hours boat ride crossing Tonle Sap to Siem Reap.
9th day | SiemReap – Banteay Srei – SiemReap.
We turn off the main roads from Angkor temple cycling cycle through lush jungles to Banteay Srei which was the citadel of Women with superbly intricate reliefs of male and female divinities. Visit the land mine museum on your way back to SiemReap.
10th day | Angkor Complex Cycling.
Spend a whole day discovering Angkor Watt by bike, including Angkor temple, Bayon temple, and Angkor Thom. End of Cycling Saigon to Angkor Wat 10 days.
